The Potfest competition was started primarily as a bit of fun, a chance for exhibitors to step away from their normal day to day production and try something new, with the potters special competition pieces on the lawn, juxtaposing ancient architecture and modern ceramics.
It is now one of the highlights of the show as the public, often as whole families, debate and discuss the merits of each piece before registering a vote for their favourites.
Below are images of my entries over the past few years - I have really enjoyed exploring the different themes that open new avenues of development.
This year’s competition theme is “Ancestral Voices – echoes of another time, another place“.
